This HP Pavilion dv3000 is an entertainment laptop that delivers on many verticals. Light and small enough for reasonable portability, yet powerful enough for most usage needs.the dv3000 is a workhorse of a laptop that’s quite comparable to the other machines that we based our performance comparisons on such as Dell’s XPS M1730, though to be fair it has been some time since we reviewed the M1730 so the improved capabilities on the HP notebook were expected. Whether you use it as an entertainment device or something for work, the dv3000 is good enough for almost everything, with some exceptions of course.
The latest look
This model’s high-gloss, black and bronze coating with ‘Verve’ pattern is sure to turn heads. The exterior is also super sturdy and durable; you get latch-free closure, touch-technology media launch buttons, and an AC power port that lights up when you’re charging the battery.
Easy connections
Use the HP xb3000 Notebook Expansion Base (sold separately) to connect the dv2700t to your peripherals, including a monitor, for a true desktop PC experience. Other ports include two USB 2.0, an ExpressCard/54 slot, an RJ-11, an RJ-45, an IEEE 1394 FireWire, an S-Video, and a Consumer IR. You also get optional Intel Pro/Wireless 4965AGN WLAN with Bluetooth. And you can connect in more places without having to hunt for hotspots with the optional Verizon Wireless V740 1XEVDO PC ExpressCard (service activation required).
